JA‑180IR is a wireless outdoor photoelectric (infrared) barrier designed to detect beam interruptions between a transmitter and receiver. The device is part of the JABLOTRON 100 platform and communicates over the Jablotron radio protocol at 868.1 MHz.

The barrier combines an optical sensor module (Optex) with Jablotron radio modules. The maximum optical beam distance between units is up to 60 m. Radio communication range is approximately 300 m in open area (line‑of‑sight). Both units can report tamper and status signals to the control panel.

Power and battery life: Powered by 4 × SAFT LSH20 lithium batteries (3.6 V / 13 Ah). Typical battery life is around 3 years when the power‑saving timer (120 s) is enabled; actual longevity depends on environmental conditions and event frequency.

Environmental and mechanical: The enclosure is outdoor rated with IP55 protection. Recommended mounting height is 0.7–1.0 m. Operating temperature range is approximately −20 °C to +60 °C. Environmental classification is per EN 50131‑1, level IV.

Installation and configuration: JA‑180IR units are enrolled as positions in the JABLOTRON 100 system and should be installed by a certified technician. Settings allow adjustment of sensitivity and response time; beam modulation and configuration options help avoid mutual interference when multiple barriers are installed in proximity. Proper alignment and mechanical protection are essential for reliable operation.

Applications: Suited for perimeter protection, driveways, paths and entrances where optical beam interruption detection is required. Integration with the Jablotron control panel enables centralized event management and alarm reporting.
