This sealed lead‑acid (VRLA/AGM) battery, nominal 12 V and 2.3 Ah capacity, is intended as a standby backup source for alarm control panels, small UPS units and similar smart systems that require dependable reserve power during mains outages. It is designed for standby operation and short‑term autonomy.

In security systems the backup battery keeps the control unit, communication modules and sensors powered during a power cut so that monitoring and alarm reporting remain operational until mains power is restored. A 2.3 Ah cell is commonly used in smaller installations; larger or expanded systems typically need batteries with higher capacity.

Battery capacity declines with age and operating conditions, so regular checks and timely replacement are essential. The typical recommended replacement interval is every 1–2 years, depending on usage and temperature.

Selection and replacement

When replacing a battery, verify the rated voltage (12 V), capacity (2.3 Ah), physical dimensions and terminal type to ensure fit and electrical compatibility. If uncertain, have the replacement performed by an authorized technician.

  • Confirm physical dimensions and terminal orientation.
  • Match voltage and capacity to the equipment specification.
  • Use the same terminal type to avoid connection issues.

During replacement the alarm panel may signal a fault due to the brief loss of backup power; this is normally cleared by entering the user code or via the system app. Periodic professional maintenance of the entire system is still advisable in addition to battery replacement.
