Backup battery for alarm systems and smart installations

The ACCU-6V12Ah is a sealed lead‑acid (SLA) battery with a nominal voltage of 6 V and a rated capacity of 12 Ah. It is intended as standby power for intrusion alarm panels, monitoring equipment, UPS units and similar systems that must remain operable during mains outages.

Run time depends on system consumption and can be several hours in typical installations. Battery capacity decreases with age and usage, so routine inspection and replacement are advised—commonly every 1–2 years depending on operating conditions and discharge cycles.

Applications and compatibility

Designed to fit most standard alarm systems (e.g. DSC, GE, Interlogix, Honeywell Vista, ADT, Chubb, Rogers) and suitable for higher‑demand systems such as Jablotron or Eldes. Also used in UPS systems, emergency lighting and other standby applications.

Selection and replacement

When replacing, confirm mechanical dimensions, nominal voltage, capacity and terminal type to ensure correct fit and electrical connection. Replacement should preferably be carried out by qualified personnel; if performed by the user, disconnect mains, remove old connectors carefully, connect the new battery and verify charging and panel fault indications.

Maintenance and disposal

Sealed design requires minimal maintenance, but avoid extreme temperatures and deep discharge. Dispose of spent batteries through authorised recycling channels in accordance with local regulations.
