Overview of car alarm functions
Integrated CAN bus converter. Information about the status of the vehicle (unlocking and locking the vehicle with the original remote control, turning the ignition key, opening the doors, engine cover, trunk) can be obtained via the CAN bus connection without affecting its communication.
The integrated impact detector has adjustable sensitivity using a trimmer inside the unit. Its activation can result in a warning (1s siren sound), an alarm activation, or both. If the alarm function is activated, a filter is applied that eliminates accidental impacts (e.g. a passing heavy vehicle...). The alarm is activated only if the first shock is followed by another within 15 seconds. If both the warning and alarm functions are activated, the alarm responds to the first shock with a short sound, and after the second shock (within 15 s), the alarm is activated.
The voltage drop sensor detects whether, while the alarm is armed, some device in the car is not turned on (protection, for example, against mechanical unlocking of the central locking), which results in a sudden voltage drop. The sensor is blocked 20 minutes after being turned on (allows the engine cooling fan to stop working). It can be deactivated using the software (parameter 8) if independent devices are used in the car (heating, refrigerator).
The alarm is equipped with several alarm inputs, the number of which depends on the alarm wiring method, see below.
Up to 12 wireless detectors of the JABLOTRON 100+ series can be registered to the car alarm. They can monitor movement in the car, window breaking, as well as the garage space in which the vehicle is parked.
The programmable output can include power for additional detectors (microwave oven, tilt detector) that are active when the alarm is activated or provide a signal to control the MCB-03 and MCO-04 (AUX) modules.
A blocking relay circuit can be used to disconnect e.g. car starter, fuel pump or ignition circuit. With the AUTOIMO function on, the car cannot be started if the ignition key is turned off for more than 5 minutes. The function is unlocked with a button on the remote control.
In the event of an alarm, the siren output is activated for 30 seconds. If the alarm is resolved correctly, the siren will stop immediately.
If the car is taken to a workshop, the AUTOIMO function and the sound indication can simply be switched off temporarily.
Optical indication of switching on, off and alarm. The car alarm can control the vehicle's direction indicators in three selected modes.
Opening the trunk. In the deactivated state, the car's trunk can be opened remotely if its mechanical system allows it (BLK output function must be set to trunk control).
PANIC is a function of sounding the siren using the remote control in the on and off state (by pressing both buttons simultaneously). It can be used to quickly find a car in a parking lot. This function can be selected with parameter 17 (PANIC).
For emergency disarming, the alarm is equipped with a Valet button. It is also used to set optional parameters.
Information about operating statuses is displayed by an LED.
Settings and parameters of the car alarm can be easily adjusted using the CA-340PRG wireless device connected to a personal computer.
