LD-12 Flood detector

LD-12

New product

JABLOTRON ALARMS S.A.

The LD-12 is a wired flood detector for indoor use (e.g. cellars, bathrooms). It reports water contact on its electrodes to an alarm or monitoring system input. Low power consumption and simple wiring make it suitable for continuous monitoring of critical points.

Overview

The LD-12 flood detector senses water bridging its electrode pair and provides a wired signal suitable for alarm panel inputs. It is intended for spot detection at locations where water tends to accumulate (lowest points in basements, beneath boilers, near drains). The unit is designed for indoor, continuous operation.

Wiring and output behavior

Wire colours: red = +12 V, black = GND. When the electrodes are joined by water (flood condition), the blue wire is connected to GND and the yellow wire is disconnected from GND. When water is no longer present, the blue wire disconnects from GND and the yellow wire connects to GND. The yellow lead is typically used as the alarm input signal to a control panel.

Installation guidance

Position the electrode pair where water first accumulates. Verify power polarity and cable integrity before commissioning. Use appropriate cable cross‑section and protect connections against corrosion and mechanical damage. LD-12 is not intended for direct, prolonged exposure to flowing water without a suitable protective enclosure.

Technical specifications

  • Power: 12 V DC (9 – 15 V)
  • Current consumption: nominal 0.6 mA; maximal 0.6 mA
  • Operating temperature range: -10 to +40 °C
  • Standards: EN 50130-4, EN 55022

Safety and maintenance

Periodically inspect electrodes and cabling and test the connected alarm input. Isolate power before performing permanent wiring work. For critical sites, schedule regular functional tests and keep maintenance records according to site procedures.
